Julie Johnson, President & Co-Founder, Participates in Career Panel

On November 16th, Julie Johnson, the President and Co-founder of Armored Things,
participated in the University of Wisconsin-Madison Career Panel
Discussion, Career Pathways with Startup Companies.

Julie Johnson was featured alongside of Jefferson Badger (VP of Sales,
EatStreet), Chandra Miller Fienen (Director of Operations,
StartingBlock Madison), and Joe Sweeney (Co-Founder, 100 State). Julie
led the panel’s discussion regarding her own career path and gave
advice to those looking for local startup job opportunities. With the
mixture of Undergraduate and MBA candidates in the audience, Julie
covered many topics during the Q&A. Topics that arose during the
discussion included Julie’s financial background, the security
industry, how to find the right startup company, and local Wisconsin
job creation. After the event, Armored Things held a meet and greet
pizza dinner where Julie and Bruce Maas (CIO and Vice Provost for IT
at UWMadison) answered any remaining student questions. Julie and
Bruce spoke to those who stayed back about future internships, startup
culture, and the importance of diversity.

Thank you to all the students who attended the event and interacted
with the panel, and thank you to the University of Wisconsin-Madison
for putting together this event for students to ask advice and hear
experiences from professionals within their desired industry."
